Thank You.

Thank You.
Matt Masinga

Thank you for reading our newsletter on a daily basis.

I started this newsletter to cover how AI is changing our lives and professional careers.

To be completely honest with you newsletters have changed my life, I went from making $30K to $70K a year to seeing that much and a little more in literally a single month.

If you have a few minutes to spare, I'd love to share with you how I stumbled into the newsletter industry, what I've learned so far, and how I think you can benefit.

A recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn about interviewing for a VP of Sales role for a San Francisco based newsletter. At the time, I knew little to nothing about newsletters as a business or an industry. But I considered the opportunity because of the freedom this potential job offered and the prospect of building my own team from the ground up.

What I learned blew my mind.

Just like that, I was hopping on calls with CMOs, Marketing Directors, and CEOs with marketing budgets anywhere from $15k to $50K.

As if that wasn't enough, some of these orgs and decision-makers have something called a test budget, that's $5K to $15K to test out a promising newsletter's audience and see if it performs for them. Test budget, huh?

Newsletter sales is completely different from standard sales, usually when selling something there's a degree of customer education involved. Customers have to learn who you are, what you offer, what makes you different, and there's often a long courting process to build rapport, and get them to eventually buy.

The larger the deal, the longer it usually takes to close it.

Not in the newsletter industry. Here, customers already know how the ads work. They know what to expect from your newsletter and are often clear about how much they can or cannot spend. Deals close within two to 21 days with little to no friction. Sometimes by email, without a Zoom call.

Newsletter ads range from $5K to $20K for a single placement, depending on the size of your newsletter and the roles and industry of your readers.

I spent years in sales, seeing companies hire and fire sales development representatives, account executives, and agencies to find new customers and help the company generate revenue. I can confidently say nothing compares to newsletter advertising.

If you're reading this as a CEO, CMO, Marketing Director who'd like to find new customers and generate more revenue, or someone who'd like to supplement their income, or build their personal brand. Get into the newsletter business.

Morning Brew, The Hustle, The Milk Road, and a lot of other newsletters were sold for millions of dollars and they continue to generate millions more for the current owners.

It's not all sunshine and roses, but when you build it right you get back 50X to 100X whatever you put in and invest to get started and grow your newsletter.

You can run this newsletter to place your own ads and also sell advertising space to brands that fit your newsletter's industry and that of your readers.

According to Meta, since 2018 brands have spent $5,394,372,036 running ads on Facebook, that's an estimated $770,624,576.57 per year over the last seven years. Now imagine only 0.01% of this coming your way. That's an estimated extra $770,624.58 annually, and that's $64,218.72 monthly. This is just the tip of the iceberg; there's millions more being spent on YouTube, X, Google, TikTok, and other newsletters.

If this piques your interest, and you have the time and the means; I'd love to help you win.
